Bridal fashion Show Promotional video \\ Prudence gowns \\ St.Mellion golf course \\ The Swing Kings

Last week I was asked to film the Bridal Fashion Show being held at St.Mellion International Golf Course. It was held by the Plymouth Bridal shop, Prudence gowns and South West wedding singers, The Swing Kings. It was a great opportunity to meet future Brides and other local wedding suppliers in the area.

Here, take a look at the promotional video I made for the Event

I won an Award!

This weekend I won my first award at The International Broke Film Festival hosted in America with my film Blood Shed. I am really happy about the news, which has given me the drive to carry on doing what I do after I finish my degree in a month.

Short film - Blood Shed

As I am in my final year of my degree in TV Production I have to direct and produce two films. One being a short 3-minute film and the other being between around 15-minutes. Here is my short 3-minute film I created in December, Blood Shed. Please watch on a large screen with the volume up, for the best experience.

Acted by Richard Rowden, Directed and produced by myself, filmed by Scott Craig, edited by Adam Cooper, and sound assistant Josie Dudley.

Promotional of a clothing brand.

Here we have another film I made for Pebble recently, this time I was asked to make a promotional video for a new developing clothing brand called Fotouhi. I was given an open brief to do what I wanted so I decided to create a fun and creative film to reflect the brand. I decided to experiment with the editing and try new aspects I hadn't tried before. I chose a studio environment with high key lighting and flexible space, this gave me a clean white backdrop for adapting in post. I am happy with the outcome but can see many ways I would improve in the future....why not take a look!

Gadget Show Live

Last week myself and my Boyfriend were given the chance to photograph and film clips at the Christmas Gadget Show Live at Earls Court. As fans of the TV programme we had always wanted to go to the show and when given the opportunity, we jumped at the chance. It was a great event with lots of gadget exhibitors as well a show in the Super Theatre by the presenters of the Tv show. Here are the photos I took...

Filming in Dubai

2 weeks ago I was on a plane on my way to Dubai!
I spent a week as a Camera Operator in one of the most incredible cities in the World, working at a large technology event called Gitex, which was located at The World Trade Centre.  I was part of a production team for Gitex TV which was broadcasted over 50+ screens across the event as well as on the events website. I was the sole Camera Operator for Gitex TV which involved filming interviews with Executives from companies such as, Samsung, Microsoft, Google, etc. We had a tight schedule, lots of filming and lots of carrying heavy kit around the event. It was the biggest responsibility I've been given and a great experience. I really learnt a lot about filming especially how to compose an interview well!
Here is one of the 'daily highlights' I filmed.

So I couldn't of been in one of the coolest places on Earth without getting some photos! So here is a document of my trip.
In 1991, Dubai had just one tall building and it was at the edge of the desert. Now they have over 400 high rises!

My summer as a Camera Operator

Hello! It has been a while.

The summer has now come to end and my final year at University has well and truly started.
So what have I been up to? This summer i got the opportunity to do some freelance work as a camera operator, for a company which provide large LED screens at events. My job involved filming at the events and my footage was streamed live to the big screens. It was a great experience and I was able to learn a lot in the process. Filming live on location was a totally different experience for me given that I am usually filming in a studio at university. It involved a different set of challenges for me because as everything was live there can be no mistakes.
I ended up working at some great events, the highlights being an Olly Mur's concert and The Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace. I hope to have more opportunities freelancing for this company in the future as I get on well with all the team and enjoy what I do.

Hotel Commission

I recently was commissioned by the Hedley Hotel located in Bournemouth, to provide wide angle images and a promotional film. I have been doing such work for an Estate Agent for over a year now, and very keen to expand this sector to hotels, B&B's and other companies.

The Hedley is a lovely hotel located only a few minutes walk from Bournemouth Beach, and Town Centre.  - http://www.hedleyhotel.co.uk

Work Experience - Olly Murs

For the last two weekends I have been working for an exciting company. The company provide the large screens at events, such as music concerts and festivals. I have been offered the job of filming live content for the screens. I took part filming at Bournemouth 7's Festival and then more recently at an Olly Murs concert in Peterborough. It is hard work and long hours as not only do I film I also help with setting up and setting down.

It is great experience as I am learning technical aspects such as, setting up live connections and cables which I don't learn from my degree in TV Production. Getting hands-on technical education will really help in future jobs. Being backstage was a new experience for me, but loved it. We even had dinner with Olly Murs, however I kept professional and didn't ask for a photo... maybe I should next time! I hope to do more with the company throughout the summer.
